Nathan Broadley
After leaving school, I pursued my NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry at college. During my studies, I completed an apprenticeship with one of the largest UK homebuilders, primarily focusing on new builds.
Upon finishing college, I became self-employed, subcontracting for a local building firm that specialised in conservation projects. This gave me the opportunity to work on several notable landmarks, including Cobham Dairy, one of the Martello towers in Folkestone, a Pugin-designed building in Ramsgate, and various other projects for the Landmark Trust. I also contributed to the restoration of many historic listed buildings and churches throughout Kent.
It was during this period that I met Matt, who was working for a plumbing company subcontracted to the same building firm. Over the next 10 years, I gained invaluable knowledge and experience, which eventually led me to start my own business, Nathan Lawrence Construction. My focus was on carpentry, general building, extensions, and structural work.
Matt and I often collaborated on projects, with him handling plumbing needs for my clients and me taking on carpentry work for his business, MB Plumbing and Heating. In 2023, we realised the benefits of joining forces to create a unified company that could offer carpentry, building, plumbing, and heating services under one roof. This would streamline our work processes, ensuring smoother project management and a seamless experience for our clients.
And so, Buxton & Broadley was born. Our goal is to manage your projects efficiently while offering expert advice and combining our wealth of experience to bring your dream space to life.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and playing darts.
